    leadXpro is a rapidly growing company in the field of membrane protein structural biology. Our platform harmoniously integrates all facets of membrane protein biochemistry, biophysics, and structural biology, encapsulating techniques such as X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM. Our team combines specialized knowledge in protein science, pioneering technologies in structural biology and expertise in ligand design and characterization.


    The Position

    leadXpro is currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic medicinal chemist who will be part of an interdisciplinary team working on leadXpro proprietary as well as partnered projects within a highly collaborative international environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for hit to lead projects and, together with the computational chemist, the design and synthesis of drug candidates. The successful candidate will be expected to work within a dynamic team that values transparency, integrity, reliability, and a passion for science to create benefits for the patients.


    Key duties include:

    • Managing hit and lead discovery projects.
    • Facilitating synthesis of compounds with external partners.
    • Conducting data analysis and liaising with stakeholders to drive project decisions.
    • Engaging in the creation of chemical structures during the initial and advanced stages of lead discovery programs.
    • Leadership in preparation of patent applications and publications
    • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify and develop novel biological targets and lead structures.
    • Spearheading the organization's strategy for managing chemical compounds.

    Your profile

    We are actively seeking individuals with the following qualifications and attributes to join our team:

    • A PhD in chemistry or related sciences
    • At least 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry.
    • A proven history of contributions to successful drug discovery initiatives, as evidenced by patents and the development of clinical candidates.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing structural data to expedite the process of small molecule drug discovery.
    • Strong knowledge of synthetic chemistry and modern drug design techniques.
    • Demonstrated track record of publications in chemistry journals.
    • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
    • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English are essential.
